‘FIRST SWING’ LEARN TO GOLF CLINIC 2025

Celebrating 30 Years of Empowerment: Join the "First Swing" Learn to Golf Seminar & Clinic

This June, embrace the opportunity to engage with one of the most inspiring events in the realm of adaptive sports. Manfredi O&P is proud to announce the 30th Annual "First Swing" Learn to Golf Seminar & Clinic, a special day that brings together the physically challenged community and rehabilitation professionals at the beautiful Charleston Springs Golf Course in Millstone, New Jersey. Set for June 4th, 2025, this event promises to be more than just a day on the golf course—it's a celebration of mobility, independence, and the joy of golf.

A Day Designed for Discovery and Connection

"First Swing" is not just an event; it's a gateway to new possibilities. For thirty years, this seminar and clinic have introduced countless individuals with limb loss and physical challenges to the game of golf. The event is structured to ensure that everyone, regardless of experience level, can participate and find joy in the game.

Educational Seminar for Rehabilitation Professionals

The day begins with a morning seminar exclusively for rehabilitation professionals. This session is tailored to provide PTs, OTs, RTs, golf professionals, and coaches with a basic yet comprehensive understanding of the golf swing. The focus is on using golf as a tool for recreational rehabilitation, emphasizing how to modify and utilize adaptive equipment effectively. It's an invaluable workshop that offers 6 CEUs and equips professionals with the skills to bring the therapeutic benefits of golf to their clients.

Following the seminar, we gather for a communal lunch—courtesy of Manfredi O&P—offering a perfect time for participants to mingle, share stories, and build connections within the community.

Hands-On Experience on the Driving Range

The afternoon is dedicated to the golf clinic, where participants take to the driving range. Here, they receive hands-on instruction from seasoned professionals, including Bob Buck, president of the Eastern Amputee Golf Association, and Lou Namm, a respected golf instructor. They are joined by Bob Manfredi, CPO at Manfredi O&P, along with other local rehabilitation professionals who bring their morning learnings to life.

Adaptive equipment is provided to ensure that everyone can participate comfortably and safely. This includes specialized clubs and golf carts for those with mobility concerns. It’s a fantastic opportunity for first-timers to learn the basics—like swing and balance—in a supportive environment and for seasoned players to refine their skills and enjoy the camaraderie.

Making New Friends and Enjoying the Day

At its heart, "First Swing" is about community. It's about stepping out into the sun, enjoying a great day of learning and laughter, and hitting some golf balls with new friends. It's about overcoming challenges and celebrating every success, no matter how small.

As we mark 30 years of this incredible event, we invite you to join us at Charleston Springs Golf Course on June 4th.
